Digital-X-Rays

X-Ray & Digital X-Ray

Digital radiography is a form of x-ray imaging where digital x-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film, which helps in time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images along with immediate preview availability. The x-rays are highly penetrating ionizing radiations which are often used to determine the type and extent of a fracture of bones and teeth as well as for detecting changes in the lungs. With the use of injectable radio-opaque contrast media, called barium, they can also be used to visualize the structure of the stomach and intestines—this can help diagnose ulcers or certain types of colon cancers.

Heart Beat

ECHO & ECG & ETT

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple test that can be used to check your heart’s rhythm and electrical activity. Sensors attached to the skin are used to detect the electrical signals produced by your heart each time it beats. These signals are recorded by a machine and are looked at by a doctor to see if they’re unusual.
An Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT), through the use of exercise treadmill/bike testing, can be useful for identifying early signs of coronary artery disease. Although a resting Electrocardiogram (ECG) can detect and demonstrate a number of abnormalities, the presence of a normal resting ECG does not rule out the possibility of significant coronary artery disease.
Echo guidance for mitral valvuloplasty and selected electrophysiological procedures, including use of intracardiac ultrasound, is provided as needed. Online, two-way videocables connect the cardiothoracic operating rooms and the echocardiography review room.

Angioplasty

An angioplasty of a procedure for patients with coronary artery disease, particularly following a heart attack. In this, the arteries in your heart are blocked by fatty plaques. To restore blood flow through the artery, the procedure involves the doctor threading a thin tube through a blood vessel. The tube has a balloon catheter on the end and once in place, the balloon is inflated to push the plaque outward. This widens the artery and restores blood flow. An angioplasty is often combined with the placement of a stent which helps open up the artery, decreasing its chance of narrowing again.

Angiography

Angiography

A coronary angiography is a procedure to determine any problems with the coronary arteries. The procedure involves a colorless dye being flushed into the arteries through a long thin tube passed from the wrist or groin artery around to the heart whilst X-ray pictures are taken. Angiographies are usually performed in patients with suspected heart conditions and determine whether significant narrowing is present within the coronary arteries and so, allows for appropriate and timely treatment. Indo-Pakistani populations have one of the highest risks of coronary artery disease (CAD) in the world.
